Contemporary British Artist

Ruthin Gaol Museum May 2006

During May 2006 Rachel was invited by Susan Dalloe, Museums Development Officer Denbighshire Heritage Service, to undertake a project with Ruthin Gaol Museum. The ambitions of the project were to enable individuals who may not usually have had the opportunity to take part in art projects, or who had little experience of a Museum enviorment, to be able to produce art work which captured personal emotions and memories stimulated by the collections at the Museum.

Rachel demonstrated the methods and art techiques used within her own art pratice to enable the participants to produce their own personal artworks. The resulting mixed media paintings were stunning and Rachel was particularly excited to discover that a number of individuals taking part were over 90 years of age, highlighting to all of us that it is never to late to begin to paint!
